Entrepreneurship

We empower young people to succeed in self-employment, because we know that the global market can’t keep pace with the vast numbers of young people entering every year.

As these entrepreneurs start new businesses, we’ve witnessed their power to create new jobs and help shape local economies. Our entrepreneurship initiatives give young men and women the foundational knowledge, training, and resources to start, lead, and grow small and micro enterprises.

Across the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, Build Your Business has offered engaging e-content and in-person training that has made fruitful small business ownership a reality for young people. In India, Maya and Sandeep are just two participants in Young Entrepreneurs who found success in self-employment. In Palestine, 9,000 youth who trained under Youth Entrepreneurship Development have increased employability and entrepreneurship skills.

Thanks to our holistic approach and our belief that all youth need entrepreneurial skills to successfully navigate in today's world, many of our initiatives include a strong entrepreneurship component. For example, in Senegal, young women YouthMap participants Adja, Fany, and Oumy  are succeeding in self-employment with the knowledge and support gained from Jeunes Agriculteurs. Similarly, in the Kyrgyz Republic, youth who learned life skills and volunteered in their communities through Jasa.kg also have gained financial independence as a result of the initiative's entrepreneurship training.
