Joanna came to IYF in 2007 as the regional manager responsible for citizenship and work projects in Latin America, under the Nokia-IYF Global Youth Development Initiative and entra21. Joanna brought to IYF five years of international development experience, which included overseeing monitoring and evaluation of Catholic Relief Services’ post-tsunami reconstruction program in Aceh, Indonesia, backstopping CRS’ UNHCR-funded refugee project in the Dominican Republic, and working with Africare in Burundi and Tanzania, the American Federation of Teachers in Washington, DC, and Save the Children USA in the Philippines and Bolivia. Joanna holds a Masters Degree in International Development Studies (MA, 2004) from George Washington University. Joanna has lived in Indonesia, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia, is fluent in Spanish and has limited working proficiency in Tagalog and Bahasa Indonesia.
