Kristina joined the Marketing and Communications team at IYF in 2016. She came to writing and communications by way of history, and has worked with various historical sites, museums, and historical societies. She has also worked as a freelance writer for publications such as the Washington Post and OZY.com, and loves writing articles that explore how history, science, and society interact. Most recently, she was the Bone Marrow Drive and Marketing coordinator at There Goes My Hero, where she did everything from registering life-saving bone marrow donors to website updates to event planning. She is passionate about nonprofits that help blood cancer patients and young adults affected by cancer. Kristina holds a B.A. in history and a B.A. in modern languages from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and an M.F.A in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College. She has spent significant time in Sweden, Germany, and Chile, and speaks English, Swedish, German, and Spanish.
