Susan first joined IYF in 1996 as Director of Technical Support for its Global Partner Network and left after five years to serve as Country Director for Nicaragua for the Peace Corps. In 2005, Susan returned to IYF to develop the foundation’s monitoring and evaluation systems for the entra21 and the Nokia-funded Make a Connection programs. She later became the director of the entra21 program that served 137,000 youth in 21 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and generated over a dozen publications on youth employability. As regional director for LAC, Susan oversees IYF program efforts in 12 countries, including several large-scale youth employment programs aimed at system-level changes. Prior to joining IYF, Susan worked for USAID and the Inter-American Foundation in Mexico and Central America and consulted with a variety of international organizations. She holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she specialized in manpower planning and a B. A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Raised in Latin America, Susan also has worked in southern Africa and Central Europe.
