In 1999, Visteon, the world’s second largest supplier of automotive components and systems, and IYF launched the "See the possibilities" project in Germany to promote children and youth participation and leadership.
Visteon supported IYF and its Partner, Deutsche Kinder- und Jugendstiftung, to create "Young Ideas: Young Technologies," a grant-making program for youth. Among the 25 projects that are being funded are a plan to construct a solar-powered motorbike and an environmental study by high school students to determine the causes of pollution in nearby lakes.
A total of 600 young people are expected to benefit from newly acquired social, educational, and business skills. More than 10,000 youth are expected to benefit indirectly through exposure
to and involvement in the youth-led projects that have received grants.
